When I first started reviewing cameras, I used to test them out in the studio. That was a mistake. It turns out that the results of those tests were not reflective of the relative strength of the test camera. In the studio, with controlled lighting, and particularly when photographing a human, almost all cameras look pretty good. (Believe it or not, portraits have far less detail than most things). Take the same camera out into the real world, and the picture is much different. I love my iPhone, but in most circumstances it cannot compete even marginally with better cameras."
